Allen & Heath GL3200

The Allen & Heath GL3200 is a professional-grade analog mixing console designed for live sound reinforcement and recording applications. The GL3200 offers a varying number of input channels depending on the specific model, ranging from 24 to 40 channels. These input channels are equipped with a combination of XLR and TRS connectors, allowing you to connect microphones, instruments, and line-level sources. Each input channel includes a high-quality microphone preamplifier (preamp) to amplify low-level microphone signals to line level. These preamps are designed to provide clean, transparent amplification with low noise and distortion, ensuring excellent sound quality. The GL3200 features a comprehensive EQ section on each channel, typically including high-pass filters, parametric EQ bands, and shelving EQs. Additionally, some models may include built-in dynamics processing such as compressors and gates for dynamic control over individual channels. The mixer includes group and matrix outputs, allowing you to route and mix multiple channels together for additional flexibility in mixing and signal routing. Group outputs are commonly used to feed monitor mixes or submixes, while matrix outputs enable complex routing configurations. The GL3200 provides multiple auxiliary sends per channel, typically including pre-fader sends for creating monitor mixes and post-fader sends for effects processing or additional routing. These sends can be used to send individual channel signals to external devices or monitors. The mixer features a comprehensive master section with dedicated controls for controlling the overall mix, including master faders, group faders, matrix sends, and main outputs. This section also typically includes metering, solo, and mute controls for monitoring and controlling individual channels and groups. Many models of the GL3200 include direct outputs on each channel, allowing you to route individual channel signals directly to external recording devices or other equipment for multitrack recording or additional processing. Allen & Heath mixers are known for their robust build quality and reliability, featuring a rugged chassis and high-quality components that are designed to withstand the rigors of professional use in live sound and studio environments.
