Description
In computing, a parallel card refers to an expansion card that provides parallel ports for connecting peripherals such as printers, scanners, and external storage devices to a computer. Parallel ports are used for transmitting data in parallel, meaning multiple bits of data are sent simultaneously over multiple wires. These cards typically feature a DB25 or DB9 connector for connecting the parallel cable to the computer.A parallel cable is a type of cable that connects a device to a computer’s parallel port. It is commonly used to transfer data between the computer and peripherals that support parallel communication. The most common type of parallel cable is the IEEE 1284 standard cable, which has a DB25 connector on one end (for connection to the computer) and a Centronics connector on the other end (for connection to the peripheral device).
