Description
The Yamaha HS5 is a pair of powered studio monitors designed for professional audio production and mixing. The Yamaha HS5 features a 5-inch cone woofer for the low and mid-frequency range and a 1-inch dome tweeter for the high-frequency range. This combination provides a balanced frequency response and accurate sound reproduction. Each monitor in the pair is bi-amplified, meaning it has separate amplifiers for the woofer and tweeter. This allows for precise control over each driver, resulting in clearer sound with minimal distortion. Each HS5 monitor has a total output power of 70 watts: 45 watts for the woofer and 25 watts for the tweeter. This provides ample power for monitoring in small to medium-sized studio spaces. The frequency response of the HS5 monitors is 54 Hz to 30 kHz, providing a wide range of frequencies for accurate monitoring of bass, midrange, and treble frequencies. The HS5 monitors feature room control and high trim controls on the rear panel, allowing you to adjust the monitors' response to match the acoustics of your studio environment. This helps compensate for any room anomalies and ensures accurate monitoring. The monitors feature a ported enclosure design, which helps extend the low-frequency response and reduce port noise. The enclosures are made of MDF (medium-density fiberboard) for enhanced durability and reduced resonance. The HS5 monitors feature balanced XLR and TRS inputs, as well as an unbalanced RCA input. This allows for easy connection to a variety of audio sources, such as audio interfaces, mixers, and playback devices. The HS5 monitors have a compact footprint, making them ideal for use in smaller studio spaces or as near-field monitors on a mixing console or workstation.
